Thank God It’s FanDayFriday!
If you haven’t been paying attention it’s time for another addition of FanDayFriday. This is a featured post series where I’m collaborating with some other bloggers to share a few of my favorite things on Fridays. Each week I’ll tell you some favorites of mine and then share a link to another blogger who will share a favorite of theirs.
If you missed the other two entries you can read them here:
Keeping with iamzoewatson.com‘s theme of the week here are a few of my favorite Back to School products:
Back To School Fashion
I’ve already covered this topic this week. Back to school fashion is about 90% of the excitement of going back to school no matter if you’re 5 or 25!
If you haven’t seen my post about capsule wardrobes check out:

Back to school seems to be a good benchmark date as to when to buy new shoes. It seems like 99% of the kids I see at school get at least 1 pair of new shoes for that first day in their new classes. FanDayFriday wouldn’t be complete without the most up to date shoe news from the littles:
As much as I want Bootsie to be a princess, she likes her tennis shoes. Her latest pair is the Skechers Girls’ Twinkle Toes Shuffles Sweetheart Sole High Top,Gun Metal,US 4.5 She tried to wear Vans shoes, and a pair of Sketchers running shoes, before, but the Twinkle Toes line of shoes is what she gravitates towards these days. This is her second pair in the last two years.
I guess when she gets older she get a little more fashionable with her shoes, since it’s high tops in the fall and crocs all summer, but for now function is more important than fashion.
I can’t tell you enough how much I rely on Crocs to save the day when it comes to keeping Boogie’s feet covered! These crocs Bump It Clog (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid), Navy/Oyster, 6 M US Toddler actually look like Shell Toe Shoes which are a lot more fashionable than normal crocs in my eyes.
We won’t be getting our supply list for classes for a while, but Amazon has a great solution. A one stop shopping kit: School Tool Box First Grade Mega School Supplies Kit in Keepsake Box! From the Amazon description this First Grade Mega Box contains:

Note: Our teacher last year gave us brand names and while that seems crazy, at least for Kindergarten level it makes a lot of issues disappear when each kid has the same brand of paint, crayon or pencils.
Despite my daughter’s choice of gun metal shoes this year, her favorite color is pink and this JiaYou Kid Child Girl Flower Printed Waterproof Backpack School Bag(Rose,Large) is a great addition to any little girl’s school supply list!
I’d suggest buying a big backpack for even your smallest school age kids. Boogie is going to use a similar sized backpack this year that he got last summer. If you can cut costs by not buying a new backpack every year it’s amazing how much money you can save!
This will be our first year to send lunches to school. I fully love the idea of buying lunch at school, but the fact is, kids are picky and making things I know my kids will eat is important to me. This Bentgo Kids Children’s Lunch Box – Bento-styled Lunch Solution is a great one piece container to send to school. You can be assured that you won’t lose any pieces and the amount of space in this set is perfect for an elementary school child’s lunch!
